Transforming Lives Through the Healing Power of Horses

At Elevate Equine, we believe in the extraordinary connection between horses and humans to create life-changing experiences for children and adults facing physical, emotional, and developmental challenges.

How Equine Therapy Works

A horse’s natural gait mirrors the movement of the human pelvis, helping riders improve balance, coordination, and core strength. Horses also respond honestly and without judgment, allowing participants to build trust, confidence, and emotional awareness in a supportive environment.

Our Impact

Every day, we witness miracles: A child with autism speaking their first words to their horse. A veteran finding peace after trauma. A wheelchair-bound rider taking their first steps. These aren’t just riding lessons, they’re transformative experiences that change lives.

Who We Serve

While we happily welcome people of all abilities, we specialize in working with people who need a quiet, supportive environment and a more individualized pace.

What Our Riders & Families Say

Teena W.

When Ben started I already knew he loved to ride. But I was thrilled the first time he tapped the saddle horn to signal “walk on.” I had no idea he was learning that! Over time he has learned to play several games that help him stretch and increase his flexibility. Lately he has been helping with grooming, which in turn has helped him learn to groom, interact and bond with his service dog at home. Truly one of the best decisions we have ever made for Ben.

My family loves Elevate Equine (formerly Scooters Place)! It’s such an open and welcoming environment. I can tell that ALL of the volunteers love what they do and are there because they followed their heart.

Stone has non-verbal autism, and to our amazement has learned so much in the past 2 years. At the age of 15 he was so afraid of the horses, he would barely touch one, let alone ride one! But now (with a lot of patience from the staff) he happily hops on and motions the horse to go. We are so thankful for this therapy that has benefited Stone so much!

Coming to Elevate is the highlight of my week, the one day where I forget I have MS. I love riding Moo, and talking with the volunteers and Jeanine is just as fun as riding!

I’m one of the original volunteers at Elevate, having volunteered first at the Woodinville barn back in 2016. As a child, I struggled with OCD and anxiety but started riding at six years old and being around horses has always helped calm those tendencies. I look forward to my Sundays at Elevate and love supporting our students (and volunteers) as they gain confidence, balance, and strength, all while having fun.

We tried every activity we could think of for my son with high functioning autism (think Asperger’s). He was very unsure at first but Jeanine and all the volunteers were so gentle and tolerant. And now he would go every single day if he could. I love spending time at the barn almost as much as my son does!!
